Giant Muskie ( Musky ) Ice Fishing Video

  • ha ha once the "pro" came in he caught it like nothing

  • lol that happens to me alot the "pro" comes in and talks shit about how he catches a bunch, then he catches nothing! NICE muskie..or pike idk

  • Catch and release, baby, nice job all around. I really appreciate the fact that there is no profanity in the video, just three guys thoroughly enjoying the day . . . I can show this video to children, they will be impressed as well. Nice work fellas!

  • Makes me cold just watchin that!! Don't plan on doing this, in my lifetime!! 80degrees and palm trees sounds nice for me!! Good Video tho!! Nice Job

  • hi guys im a 13 year old kid who loves to fish and will fish anywhere that has water please check me out and watch my video

  • good for you little bud!! should come up to canada, do so real fishing! really shouldn't give out your age on the web. hell ive caught bigger fish than that one on the vid!

  • ok thanks i havent been to canada in a while but i do live in new york so yea it doesnt matter and i have caught fish bigger than that too because i went tuna and barracuda fishing in bermuda and caught like a 150 pound tuna

  • I'm sorry and don't mean to rain on anybody's parade but before I go on I would like to know if you must catch and rlease the fish there, because if you don't, then you my friend, are a dumbass, talk about some good eats

  • i live on lake scugog in southeastern ontario, canada. in scugog i catch smallmouth and largemouth, walleye, different trypes of sunfsish, black adn white crappie, a few muskies, tons of perch, and huge carp, and a few rock bass. i also fish in duffins creek near me and catch brook trout and chubs in the winter i sometimes fish on lake simcoe and we get some big whitefish and lakers, and a few ling

Eaten plenty of Walleye here and I still prefer Pike (same family as Musky). Just a pain to fillet the Y bone out. Majority of fish I eat is panfish (perch, crappie, bluegill). Walleye, pike, and LM bass make up about 40%. Small mouth and Muskies are too much fighting champions to eat for me. It's like, "Wow, you fought that hard? Go free!"

  • Giant Muskie ( Musky ) Ice Fishing Video Pike Photo That is one awesome video you guys are so lucky to have fish like that under the ice. Great to see you put it back after it had recovered. Brilliant video, hope the two guys who put there hands in didn't get frostbite.

  • Fishing is at times a recreational sport. And big fish like this have great genetics, and spawn bigger fish. Furthermore, fish this size tend to have large deposites of mercury and other contaminants. Therefore, always release the hogs, and eat the smaller ones, like 25-35 inches.

  • nice i wouldnt call it giant though...i dont hhave room to talk ive been trying to catch a tiger muskie at my small lake near by but we cant cover much water with the boats there since its a small lake its limited to electric motors only..any advice?

  • thats was alwsome way to go and nice release by the way what did the muskie bit on and what type of rod and reel where you using it look like it was a good rig set up

  • Hey, nice fish, am really jealous, when I went to Canada last January, had my Ice fishing cancelled because the weather, was to mild and Ice was unsafe!, next time if I'm lucky. What is one of the best bates to use?

  • What a beautiful fish! You have to watch out if you're goig to put your hand in that whole though! My friend needed stiches after getting his hand opened up by pike teeth in that exact same scenario. He says the pike bit him, but I think he got his hand caught on it's teeth because he was sort of drunk and wasn't paying attention. He was laughing like an idiot trying to pull it out. Anyways the fish won!

  • A question for you guys: if everyone makes holes in the ice, isnt that dangerous for people walking or snowmobiling? After your done with the hole do you have to mark it? thanks

  • Actually, the hole freezes back up no too long after you're done fishing. You actually have to keep breaking up the ice while you're fishing because it's so cold the water keeps freezing. It poses no risk to anyone else after you're done fishing.

damn.. my uncle is a musky freak. he fishes for nuthin else..hes got a few mounted about this size..ive never landed one but i had one on line for a few minutes he jumped and straightened my 3 pronged hook and got off..but i was able to see if it was a musky and the size of it my unlce said it was alittle over 2ft just by look 20 yds out..it was crazy. i wish i would have landed it cuz im not a fisherman and it would have been a nice catch. out on hudson lake in michigan.

  • Good that you release it coz muskies have slow reproduction time and are highly vurneable to overfishing. These guys are "Catch-and-release" fishers, wich is good! Thumbs up mates! Nice muskie you got.

  • muskie fishing is exactly what u said a sport. the fish are not that good of an eat. muskie are one of the hardest fresh water fish to catch. its important to practice catch and release

  • Yes. I have caught a few muskie, even though it is not what I fish for most of the time. I have never had trouble catching muskie, and I live in west NJ, where there are many lakes with an ample amount of muskie, so maybe it is the body of water you are fishing, or mine is a tad easier to fish. What I found exciting was catching a muskie on the fly. Harder species to catch would be paddlefish, grayling, any species of trout on the fly.

  • you fucking peck , ive caught pike up to 23lbs , so what if i got the name wrong , you failed fucking speck of spunk that was scraped up your mothers leg !! your a cunt

  • Took a big risk sticking your hand down there like that. I've seen pike go for a guy and try to take pieces out of him. They have massive teeth.

  • firefighter you are a moron!!!!! no muskies in either of those lakes!!! Must be you have never fished those lakes.

  • Wow....most open water musky fisherman would love a chance to catch one that big and you guys did it thru the ice..... amazing..nice fish

  • The thing I don't get is, why throw it back? Really though, your out there in the freezing cold, least you could do is get some meat from that thing... I know there's rules, but doesn't seem fair to me.

  • Okuma Voyager Travel Fishing Kit (100/6)because on heavy populated lakes, people dont throw back and now the fish population is just down. It happened at my cottage and the fishing is just terrible now.

  • typically fish go into shock when they're pulled out of the water, they have about a 40% chance to survive when you throw them back

  • I usually keep one or two of the biggest ones and release the smaller ones. Hey, I want to go home with some tasty fish to eat as a reward and not just leave empty handed.

  • you dont cast u drop the line straight down

  • who said that you cast? cuz they are retards if they say that uyou cast into a hole lol, i love ice fishing, and normal fishing, i sell fish and i sell flies that i tie myself. so i can get new gear like a new ogger, a portable shanty, new poles, and warm stuff to wear on the ice, message back, tell me waht you think.

  • i dont know some one said before"how to u cast in that little hole must be hard, must take lots of practice".then i replied u dont cast in the hole u drop it down the hole or jig it

Yes, if you "torture it" with hooks damaging their mouth and other parts of body, seriusly damaging those, and hook often stay in fishes mouth, then kill it, eat it.... and anyway what the hell is point of catching something, preparing yourself to catch it, buying rods, reels, all that, spending day on water.. thousand things

  • now i see why people sometimes hate the americans.. but i also learnt there're many people there who hate these bad habits(hobbies). if they cook and eat it.. this was a very nice film.. they're sick.

  • The Gigantic Book of Fishing StoriesJust because you are too dense to understand why a man/woman would use his/her wits end technique to fool an animal into being captured to the point of total helplessness and then released to back into life as they know it, doesn't rate being hated. The animal will be fine. It doesn't hurt the vast majority at all. It's called a "challenge". If you climb a mountain, it's a challenge. You don't have to destroy the mountain so nobody else can climb it. You don't have to eat the fish either.

  • what is the challange??! fishes are much smaller than us. you're just playing the game, aren't you? i never climb a mountain for such a reason. i climb it only when for the worships.

  • it is a challenge to fool a fish into biting... when a fishes sense are much more sharpened than say that of a whitetail deer... when i fool a 5-6 lb bass into biting my jerkbait... i feel accomplished...

  • alright, i'll try to understand your ways. i just hadn't seen fishes like that way before. they're my every day dishes and very precise ones, so i got interest to fish for myself. by watching this vid, i got some questions, but it didn't mean i really wanted to attack these things. just questions.

  • I am not sure about ice fishing, but course and fly fishing are certainly a challenge. Just because the fish are smaller does not make them less powerful, the above muskie has more pounds of pressure per centimeter of muscle than man does. They are just one huge bolt of power, and there is a lot of technique involved. I go fishing, surfing, climbing, hiking and i can tell you in an instant which one is more gratifying.

  • nice!! that thing woulda made some great patties.. could have fed a small african village.. nice fish! nice to know hell grow to be even bigger.. maybe feed a medium village someday lol
